I love a crisp cold winter’s morning as much as the next person. But there really is something uplifting about seeing the first signs of spring! The mighty winter aconites are now out in force around the wooded areas of South Lincolnshire, kicking off the year in style with a flash of brilliant yellow and it shouldn’t be too long until the dots of white, orange and purple join them.
The cute delicate little white flower of the snow drop is one of the toughest we can find in the bulb world. It withstands the coldest of our climates and battles on as our second reminder that the warmer months are on their way.
When I see the crocus coming though the lawn like paint splats on an artist’s floor, I know that it then really won’t be long at all before we can say good bye to chilly Jack Frost and hello to lots of vibrant colour, that we in Spalding are so well known for.
